The Capital in the spot

Palácio Alvorada - The official`s President House

The Brazilian capital has always been among the main touristic destinations in the country. Classified by Unesco as Cultural World Heritage, it welcomes more than a million visitors each year. Brasília has also the largest area under governmental trust in the world, with more than 100 km.

The Justice Palace

But to portray Brasília in only one post would be a difficult task. Let`s just attain ourselves in the ingenious architectonical plan. We invite the visitor to focus in the concrete poems sites, projected by Oscar Niemeyer and Lucio Costa as a way to show that are wonderful ways of realizing dreams.
The Best way to know the town is by rented car. It is a pleasure to drive in the Brasilia avenues, with the modern buildings and gardens along with panoramic views ending in the horizon of the Brazil`s Central Plateau.  The plants used in the landscape are native and protected.
Many of the attractions are along the Monumental Axle of the Plano Piloto (Pilot Plan) as the urban perimeter is known. It has a shape of an airplane and can be seen at the top of the TV Tower with 224 mts (closed Mondays).
Brasilia`s Cathedral is one of the unique constructions. With a circumference of 70 mts and pillars weighted 90 tons, it shelters sculptures in and outside offering singular images.
The palaces located at Praça dos Três Poderes (Three Powers Square) also have lofty and modern shapes that caused amazement even in the astronaut Yuri Gagarin when visiting the town.
Now, the city have a new president, the first woman ever in Brazil. So the town was renovated to welcome the new boss, so this may be the best time to visit Brasilia.

The JK Memorial pays a tribute to Juscelino Kubitscheck for its determination, the cause of its immortality to the Brazilian people.
We all hope the same determination to Dilma Roussef and wish that she uses tourism as the main tool to explore the Wonders of Brazil.

Happy New Year to the World.
